Artist Notes: This is page 4 of the six pages of Step Inside: Alice in Wonderland. This scene was the most fun to illustrate... except for the grass. I'm not sure what I was thinking at the time. Grass is a tedious thing to draw with pastel. Had I to do it over again I would've taken a more impressionistic approach. Ah well... next time. On a more interesting note I happened upon a photo of Keith Moon in a top hat and so he became my model, more or less, for the Mad Hatter.
