Artist Notes: This is page one of the six pages of Step Inside: Alice in Wonderland. I happen to like it best... maybe for the unusual perspective. And though it is the first picture in the book I did not actually illustrate it first. At the time I had a mild concern for the deadline and didn't want page 1 to look the best and have pages 2-6 in a progressive decline as the deadline bore down. In the end it all worked out.
